Hello friends, today we are going to see healthy & tasty poriyal from South Indian cuisine. This is the best side dish with sambhar rice, Curd rice, Cauliflower rice or even with Chappathi.
It is a low carb side dish. In this dish, finally we are going to add freshly grounded coconut flesh, Jeera, fennel seeds, pepper & curry leaves which gives more taste & flavour to the dish.

Snake gourd poriyal/low carb side dish
Oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Jeera – 1tsp
Snake gourd – 4 small size chopped
Onions – 2 med size chopped
Tomato – 1no.chopped
Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
Greenchillies – 4 nos.
Curry leaves few
Cilantro for garnish
Coconut chopped – 1/4 cup
Fennel seeds – 1tsp
Jeera – 1tsp
Pepper corns – 1tsp
Curry leaves – few leaves
*Add all the ingredients in a mixie jar & grounded into coarsely.
1.In a kadai, heat oil on medium flame.
2.Add mustard seeds, Jeera, curry leaves & temper it.
3.Now add onions, saute until translucent .
4.Add tomatoes & cook until soft.
5.Add ginger garlic paste & saute until raw flavour goes off.
6.Add the chopped snake gourd & mix it.
7.Cover & cook it for 15 – 20mins on medium heat or until soft. Mix it with spatula constantly.
8.Now add the grounded mixture & cook it for another 2 mins.
9.Finally add Cilantro for garnish.
10.Serve and enjoy with roti & Rice.
