Ingredients:
- Wheat Rava (semolina / couscous) – 1 cup
- Onion (small) – 2
- Tomato (Large) – 1
- Beans (chopped) – 1 cup
- Carrot – ½ cup
- Fresh Peas – ¼ cup
- Ginger – Small piece
- Green chillies – 3 (Chopped)
- Water – 2 ½ cup
- Salt to taste
Tempering:
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Channa dal – 1 tsp
- Mustard seed – ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds (jeera) – ½ tsp
- Turmeric – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – 4
Methods:

First, roast the Wheat rava in 1 tsp of butter in a pan and keep aside.

Add oil to pan after mustard seeds splutter, add cumin, channa dal and curry leaves.

Now add onion (don’t over cook it), tumeric, ginger and green chillies saute it for a 2 minutes until raw flavour goes away.

Add Carrot, Beans and cook for 5 minutes, now add sliced tomatoes and saute for another 3 more minute.

After that add water and salt to taste, close with a lid and bring to boil.

Now add the rava and mix without any lumps.

Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes in a medium heat, now add peas and cook for a minute.

Garnish with cilantro and fried cashews.

Hints:
-
If you use dry peas (soak for an hour) and make sure add peas before adding water.
- Wheat Rava mostly takes time to cook. If it doesn’t cook, don’t worry add another ½ cup of hot water and cover the pan for a minute.
